What lyrics to a song have inspired you, or touched your life, or expressed exactly how you feel? I like the song "Warm Safe Place" by Staind...The chorus is awesome. It goes "and then I'll find you here, through your eyes, everything's clear, and I'm home inside your arms, but I'm alone for now."

Hi,
Aaron Lewis, the lead singer of Staind, has had an impact on my life that I'll never be able to explain.
Here is one of my many favorite songs from him:

The lights are on but you're not home
You've drifted off somewhere alone
Somewhere that's safe, no questions here
A quiet place where you hide
From your fears

Chorus
Sometimes when you're out of rope
The way to climb back up is clear
The walls you build around yourself
I guess they also keep you here
Are you afraid of what they think?
Whoever 'they' happen to be
Or are you hiding from the scars
Of your own reality?

So you sedate and drown in vain
You've got a pill for every day
A suit and tie to mask the truth
It's ugly head is starting to show through

Chorus (altered)
Sometimes when you're out of rope
The way to climb back up's unclear
The walls you build around yourself
I guess they also keep you here
Are you afraid of what they think?
Whoever 'they' happen to be
Or are you hiding from the scars
Of your own reality?

Bridge
The monster you're feeding, your lack of perception
The things that you do to fulfill addictions
The light at the end of your tunnel is closing
What is it that you're so afraid of exposing
You'd give it all up
For what's there for the taking
Whatever it takes to keep your hands from shaking
The same things you're thinking might make you feel better
The same things that probably got you here

Chorus (altered)

tamyra grays song "raindrops will fall" is one of the many songs that inspires me. the bridge inspires me the most though, its so up-lifting. lyrics: i was taught not to run away, cause raindrops will always fall on your face. when it feels like all hope is gone, gotta get through the storm, before you can see the dawn. the song that inspires me the most though, is fantasia's "i believe". it speaks to me in a way that no other song has before, and everytime i hear it, or sing it, im able to put a lot of emotion into it, cause i can really relate to what its saying.

Definitely Tubthumping, the chorus that is "I get knocked down, but I get up again, you're never gonna keep me down" my motto, pretty much. Also Radiohead's Let Down, it's sd but in a very different sort of way, and Three Imaginary Boys by the Cure, the lyrics give me absolute chills every tim I hear them, about him walking into a haunted house or anightmare, being sucked in ever deeper, and at the end he keeps repeating "can you help me?" and it's very freaky, also "Forest" by the Cure has some excellent lyrics.

Now I hide myself away, I never wanna feel again, no, not again. Cuz I faced this all alone, i let it sink and wash away and now its all the same.

To dream the imposible dream to fight the unbeatable foe to bare the unbarable sorrow, to run where the brave dare not go, To right the unrightable wrong, to love pure and chased from afar, to try when your arms are too weary, To reach the unreachable star. This is my quest to follow that star: no matter how hopeless no matter how far. To fight for the right without question or pause. To be willing to march into hell for a heavenly cause, and I know if I'll only be true to this glorious quest that my heart will lie peaceful and calm when I'm laid to my rest. And the world will be better for this that one man scorned and covered with scars still strove with his last ounce of courage to reach the unreachable star. This is the song that helped me make some of my most critical decisions. It's given me peace and the courage to stand against what I know is wrong.
